These are obviously problems with Wine and its ability to interface with the Linux systems, possibly the window manager and running tasks. O showInTaskBar enabled for the RC5 form does not show an entry in The Linux taskbar. O Creating a windowless form = -1 leaves a tiny remnant window on screen O Resizing using RC5 CC.ScaleDrawings in the W_Paint event does not refresh and remove the old image leaving multiple images on screen. The issues I have encountered so far on Wine: FYI - this is Open Suse Running on real hardware, AMD hexacore 2.0ghz HP Pavilion laptop. I know others are already running Windows apps on Wine but it is an interesting platform for our apps and I feel it is worth a thread of its own which we keep updated. It is particularly heartening for me to see RC5 running so sweetly with only minor issues. It is a standard VB6 program but uses RichClient5 DLLs for the transparent forms.įirst of all, it shows it runs and that for me is a big success. First of all, a picture, this is my recent VB6 app. Overall, it was rather successful but there were a couple of issues raised that started a new thought in my mind. I have been testing my Panzer Earth VB6 Widget on Linux/Wine.
